The Total MMA Studios coaching staff would like to wish our Brazilian Top Team members who will be competing this weekend good luck at this year’s World Tournament. The whole BTT family has been training extremely hard for the event and we hope to see all our members do well!

The staff here at Total MMA Studios would like to announce we will be hosting a BJJ Friendship Tournament at our academy on June 16th. Starting with no gi at 9:00 A.M. and gi at 1:00 P.M. the event will cost $25.00 for 1 div and $35.00 for 2. The tournament will be open to adult white and blue belts only with one exception for 17 year olds with parental consent.

At the end of The Ultimate Leglock Seminar, with UFC Fighter Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares and Master Murilo Bustamante at Brazilian Top Team Boston Head Quarter, Prof. Daniel Gazoni earned from Prof. João Amaral his 3rd Degree Black Belt.

Well deserved, Prof. Gazoni has been always present and is one of the most technical instructors of the USA East Coast.

With over 17 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Daniel ‘Mirel’ Gazoni is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and the head instructor of the Brazilian Top Team Boston since 2006.

The coaching staff here at Total MMA Studios would like to thank all the Long Beach Brazilian Top Team members who joined us for an intense training session at our gym Tuesday night! An ongoing routine between our 2 teams these sessions have been a great tool for our members as the cross training has helped everyone prepare for the the 2012 tournament circuit and with the Worlds less then 2 weeks away the whole team is ready to go to war!

The Total MMA Studios staff would like to congratulate Christian Aguilera, Edgar Gonzalez and David Duran on their victories Saturday night at Bamma-USA’s Alpha 9 event!

Starting off would it would be David Duran who would use his striking ability to score a takedown before mounting his opponent and finishing an armbar in the first round. Second up would be “The Beast” Christian Aguilera as he would use his heavy hands to land some vicious combinations that would force the ref to stop the fight. Finally it would be Edgar Gonzalez who would go strike for strike with his opponent for 3 rounds and before capture a split decision victory.

Overall the event was a great success for the Total MMA team as our amateur fighters have shown great improvement over this year. We are excited to see each of them in action in the months come and wish all our fighters the best in their training.
