Can The Sauna Help Me Loose Weight?

NO!!!

People have this idea that because they go in the sauna and they sweat tremendously they are loosing weight. This is completely not true. The scale weight per say will be less because you have water loss. However, it is not bodyfat itself that you loose. The moment you leave the sauna and go about your day you will regain back that water weight through food and liquids. Your body temperature can not rise high enough like it does during any cardiovascular or weight training.

I did an experiment on myself and wore my heart rate monitor in the sauna and it did not rise up at any level that cardio does for. When I perform weight training or cardio my heart rate is between 65-85% depending on what I am training. In the sauna my heart rate was up to a wimpy 45% and just for your information my resting heart rate is usually 35%.

Total MMA Studios: So Bo can you tell us about yourself? Where you were born and where did you grow up?

Grechka: I was really born in Ukraine but when I was young my family came to the states around 1990 and I grew up in upstate New York. I went to school in South Carolina and spent around 2 years in Atlanta and then came out to California for law school.

Total MMA Studios: So you grew up on the east coast? What was your initial reaction to the west coast lifestyle? Did it take you sometime to get used to or did you adapt really quick?

Grechka: Ya man, it’s really liberal out here, the weather is better and the water is a little colder but I definitely like it out here. I am looking to stay!

Total MMA Studios: Great to hear! So can you tell us what got you into martial arts?

Grechka: Ya man, Bloodsport and old Bruce Lee movies. I used to love that stuff but my parents did not have a lot of money so I really could not get into it until about 4 to 5 years ago when I got my own job and had the money. After that I finally got into a jiu-jitsu gym and from there I got into Thai Boxing and mixed martial arts, but ya overall it was the old movies that got me into the martial arts.

Alan Belcher said he might even submit Rousimar Palhares, On a chat with TATAME, the Brazilian laughed at his opponent’s statements.

“He’s going to fight me on the ground because I’m going make him do it and he knows who will win. Saying he’s going for the ground game, that’s a lie. Everybody knows it’s a lie. Where is he fighting me on the ground?” Rousimar asked.

“He can do it, but I have to make him do it, right? That’s what’s going to happen and he knows it (laughs)”.
